Onboarding steps for editors and peer reviewers

Whether you are a new editor/peer reviewer looking to evaluate papers; or an experienced editor/peer reviewer who is dissatisfied with the current scholarly publishing process; this page would get you up to speed with the Unified Scholars Platform (USP).

The USP is a digitized web platform that offers a computer-controlled peer review. It allows scholars to peer review and edit each others papers, independently of publishers and anonymously, as a service. Key advantages are fairness, efficiency, transparency, independence, inclusivity, amongst many others. And you get paid for your work.

So, as a peer reviewer on the platform, you would be evaluating manuscripts and submitting your feedbacks. Or as an editor, you would be assessing, revising and improving manuscripts.

As part of the service, we expect the best from our editors and peer reviewers in terms of knowledge, expertise and dedication.

To become an editor/peer reviewer :

  • The first step is to register on the Unified Scholars Platform. (your details would be validated within 24hrs, and if approved, you would receive an email which contains your login details). Only approved editors and peer reviewers would get login details via email.
  • The next step is to watch the two (2) demo videos below and understand how to use the platform. (The second video is an advanced video and a continuation of the first video, so please make sure to watch both.)
  • The third step is to read the "Guide for editors and peer reviewers" document also shown below.

That is all you need to do. You would be 'invited' when relevant papers are submitted to the platform. Just login with your login details and follow the procedures you have watched and read.
